Big Bear, CA, December 19th, 2015 – In this, the season of giving, San Bernadino County Sheriff John McMahon recognized 32 individuals for giving the ultimate gift in 2015; The gift of life. Both public employees and private citizens received The Sheriff’s Lifesaving Award for acts of courage, wisdom, aid and mercy to those in need.  These individuals are responsible for administering CPR, preventing attempted acts of suicide and providing first aid which directly contributed to saving many lives. Supervisors Appoint McMahon As Sheriff

San Bernardino, CA, December 21, 2012 – The Board of Supervisors has unanimously appointed Assistant Sheriff John McMahon to fill the unexpired term of Sheriff Rod Hoops, who plans to retire on December 31. The appointment was supported by the county’s police chiefs and other law enforcement leaders, officials from communities that contract with the Sheriff’s Department for law enforcement services, and other community leaders and groups interviewed by an ad hoc committee of the Board of Supervisors.
