Mill Fire in Yucaipa Area 100% Contained

UPDATE – October 22, 2011, 10:00pm – The Mill Fire is located east of the Mill Creek Ranger Station and south of Highway 38 on Yucaipa Ridge. There was no significant fire activity Friday night or Saturday. Full containment was reached Saturday evening and the fire was declared controlled. The cause of the fire is under investigation. The incident transitioned to CalFire and resources were released. There have been no reported injuries. Acreage was more accurately mapped to be 42 acres. UPDATE – October 22, 2011, 5:35pm – The Mill Fire is located east of the Mill Creek Ranger Station and south of Highway 38 on Yucaipa Ridge. The size of the fire has been recalculated, and the forest service now says the fire has burned 43 acres. There was no significant fire activity overnight or today. Construction of containment lines, mop-up and patrol continues. Full containment is expected by 6:00pm tonight and full control by 8:00am tomorrow morning. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
