Big Bear Lake, CA, December 17, 2013 – HEAP Utility Assistance and Home Weatherization services are once again available in the Big Bear Valley. Representatives of the County program will be at Bear Valley Electric Service (42020 Garstin Drive) on December 18 to help qualifying residents register to receive hundreds of dollars in credit towards gas or electric bills, firewood, or propane. Free Refrigerators for Qualified Residents!

Big Bear Lake, CA, December 4, 2013 – The County’s Energy, Education, and Environmental Services Program will be processing HEAP (Home Energy Assistance Program) applications tomorrow at the Big Bear Lake Fire Dept. (41090 Big Bear Blvd.) Those who are able to sign in by 9:30 a.m. Thursday with the proper documentation may be eligible to receive an annual gas or electricity bill credit of $201-$334, $350 toward firewood, or up to $600 toward propane. Emergency assistance is available for clients who’ve been served a shut-off notice. Other offers include a free refrigerator replacement and energy saving light fixtures. DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED: • Both CURRENT GAS and ELECTRIC bills are required (all pages to utility bills). Big Bear, Ca, November 25, 2011, 4:00pm – Bear Valley Electric Service is once again offering HEAP assistance application processing scheduled for Tuesday, November 29th.  Starting Tuesday morning at 9:30am, applications for HEAP, which stands for the Home Energy Assistance Program, will be accepted for the first 30 in line, another 20 applications will be processed at 1:00pm at the BVES offices located at 42020 Garstin Drive in Big Bear Lake. HEAP is offered to low-income families and, those who qualify, receive financial aid to pay for utility bills, gas service, electric or propane. Those applying for HEAP are asked to bring the following: current gas and electric bills or, for propane, a current invoice with account number; rental agreement or mortgage statement; California picture ID and Social Security card; and employment verification, including pay stubs for all prior 30-day periods for all household members.
