Big Bear Non-Profits Take Top Spots in GIVE BIG Campaign

Big Bear, CA, December 3, 2015 – Another great year for the San Bernardino GIVE BIG Campaign—a 24 hour online effort to raise funds for 261 non-profits serving San Bernardino County. This year’s campaign raised $251,481 with 2,931 donors. From midnight to 11:59pm on December 1, 2015, supporters of San Bernardino County nonprofits went online, connected with causes they cared about and made donations. Every donation made had a chance to receive a Golden Ticket. When a randomly selected donor was the lucky recipient of a Golden Ticket, their charity received additional prize money. In addition, the top organizations on the Leaderboard received prize money ranging from $500 to $10,000. Give Big to the Big Bear Web-A-Thon

Big Bear, CA, November 30th, 2015 – At midnight on the first of December, the Who’s Who of Big Bear Valley nonprofit organizations will participate in a 24-hour web-a-thon to benefit Give Big San Bernardino County, in advance of the International Day of Giving on December 2nd. The inaugural Give BIG web event was held in May of last year. Nearly $550,000 was donated by over two thousand unique donors making 3,533 donations.  Tax-deductible donations will benefit efforts to combat hunger and homelessness and provide opportunities for those with disabilities. The Give Big Campaign is also working with the Big Bear branch of the American Association of University Women, raising funds for its Tech Trek program. The local AAUW branch will send girls to Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (or STEM) camp this summer at a college campus.  More than 100 nonprofits from across the county, and at least 11 Big Bear Valley organizations will participate in this year’s campaign, with training in the use of social media, marketing, donor cultivation and follow-up. Give BIG San Bernardino County returns December 1

San Bernardino, CA, November 28th, 2015 – Give BIG San Bernardino County returns December 1. It’s a 24-hour — online web-a-thon that’s an easy and convenient way to give to favorite causes, charities and nonprofits in the community.  Last year, the 2014 Give BIG campaign provided nearly $550,000 to support the work of nonprofits in our region.  There were 2,465 unique donors making over 3,500 donations to more than 200 worthy nonprofits serving San Bernardino County.   Give BIG San Bernardino County is supported by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors who voted in August to continue partnering with The Community Foundation on the campaign. Give BIG San Bernardino County Returns December 1st

Big Bear, CA October 5, 2015 – The 24-hour online web-a-thon is an easy and convenient way to give to favorite causes, charities, and nonprofits in the community.  Last year, the 2014 Give BIG campaign provided $548,214 to support the work of nonprofits in our region.  Big Bear was well represented in the campaign and took the top three spots in the number of individual donors. The Lighthouse Project had the most donors overall and raised the second most amount of money in the entire county. The Big Bear Valley AAUW Tech Trek Program and the Education Trust were second and third in the number of unique donors.  Supervisor James Ramos, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors, encourages every nonprofit in the County to visit GiveBIGSBCounty.org to get involved and make those numbers even bigger and better this year. There is a two-step process for nonprofits to get involved in Give BIG San Bernardino County: 1. Supervisors Give Big Today

Big Bear Valley, CA, June 10, 2014 – Supervisors James Ramos and Josie Gonzales will be in Big Bear today to present two personal checks to the Lighthouse Project for garnering the highest number of individual donors in the Give BIG San Bernardino County campaign. Supervisor Ramos personally pledged $1500 to the third district nonprofit which received the highest number of unique donors. Supervisor Gonzales pledged $1 for every ‘like’ she received on Facebook before the end of the campaign, also to the nonprofit with the most donors. She received 505 ‘likes’, but has increased her donation to $1000.
