New General Manager for the CSD: Robert Hopkins

Big Bear, Ca, Feburary 7, 2012, 12:00pm – The Big Bear City Community Services District has a new General Manager after Monday nights meeting.  In September of last year the CSD hired Bob Murray and Associates, an executive search firm to help in the hiring process of a new GM.  The board unanimously voted yes on offering the position to Robert Hopkins, a long time manager in the North Lake Tahoe Public Utility District.  Mr. Hopkins will begin work on Monday, February 13th, and when asked about the appointment, the CSD’s new General Manager said, “I am excited to meet the citizens of the beautiful mountain community that is Big Bear City.  I look forward to starting work next week with the Big Bear City Community Services District staff and developing a positive and productive relationship with the BBCCSD Board of Directors.”  Hopkins is no stranger to the duties the CSD GM position will require of him, as he has over 10 years of experience managing all levels of sewer, water and fleet public utility operations.  In addition to his public utility experience, Hopkins also has 10 years of experience as a small business owner, and served in the United States Army Reserve Service.  Mr. Hopkins has dual Bachelor of Arts Degrees in Political Science and Cultural Anthropology from the University of Nevada at Reno.  The Board of Directors...

CSD General Manager Search Continues

Big Bear, Ca, January 4, 2011, 3:00pm – The Big Bear City Community Services District is moving forward in their search for a new general manager.  The board is currently in the middle of the process to find a new GM.  The process is being overseen by Bob Murray and Associates, a company that specialized in finding applicants for high level executive positions.  In the coming weeks the CSD will hold a special meeting to interview candidates.  In the meantime, Interim General Manager Tim Moran recently retired on December 31st, and appointed Shari Strain as the Acting Manager while the board conducts and finilizes the search for a GM.  Strain, the CSD’s Finance Officer has been with the CSD since March of...

CSD General Manager Search Process To Start Soon

Big Bear, Ca, September 28, 2011, 5:00pm – The Big Bear City Community Services District will be starting the search process for a new General Manager soon.  According to CSD Board Secretary, Mary Reeves an executive search firm, Bob Murray and Associates, was selected to head the search process at the September 12th  meeting of the CSD.  The firm will be taking the lead on the search process and is currently working on finalizing the position brochure.  The firm will advertise through their network both locally and nationally in their search for the next CSD General Manager, and will present qualified candidates to the board for the final interview and selection.  Jeff Newsome, current CSD board chair had expressed interest in applying for the position earlier in the year, and has since announced that he will not resign from the board to apply.  Deanne Johanson, CSD Human Resources Manager told KBHR that the firm hopes to have the process finalized by...
