Big Bear Lake Antique Car Club Gives Back

Big Bear Lake, CA, November 13, 2014 – On Monday, November 10, the Big Bear Lake Antique Car Club held their annual ‘Giveaway’, awarding over $18,000. in grants to many of the Valley’s charities. The awards they distribute represent the organizations profits from the annual “Fun Run” car show held in Big Bear Lake every August. The local organizations assembled at the Discovery Center to receive their grant money included the following: Big Bear Lake Discovery Center ; Citizens On Patrol; Bear Mountain Dog Rescue; Fuzzy House Slipper Gang Service Dog Training; Miss Big Bear Valley Scholarship; AAUW Tech Trek Scholarship; Bear Valley Community Hospital Auxiliary; Bear Valley Community Nursery School; Big Bear Strings; Big Bear Valley Marine Corps Auxiliary; Kiwanis Mountain Fun Day, Teacher Supply Day Project & Hope For America; Civil Air Patrol; Seven Stars Foundation; Meals on Wheels; Big Bear Historical Society; Friends of the Big Bear Library; Big Bear Search and Rescue; and Teachers’ Special Needs. CLASSIC! Show Cars on Parade & Display This Weekend

Big Bear Lake, CA, August 8, 2014 – Proud auto owners are checking in today for the Big Bear Lake Antique Car Club Fun Run, and tomorrow morning, they’ll drive their pride-and-joys into the Bartlett Lot in the Village. Judges will evaluate over 500 show cars from 10:00 a.m. to noon Saturday and announce the winners at 2:30. There’s no admission fee for the public to view the classic cars and enjoy live music, raffles and refreshments. Be sure to stop by the KBHR booth for some giveaways. Another way to appreciate the vehicles is to find a spot along the road to watch them go by during the annual “Cruise Around the Lake,” which starts at 3:45 on Saturday. The cars will be headed in a clockwise direction from the Village, and some traffic control will be in effect. The awards ceremony is scheduled from 9:00-10:00 a.m....

Antique Car Club Shares the Wealth

Big Bear Lake, CA, November 13, 2013 – Seventeen local organizations are splitting $18,000 this season, thanks to the generosity of the Big Bear Lake Antique Car Club, which distributes profits from the annual “Fun Run” car show held every August. The annual giveaway took place on Monday at the Big Bear Lake Discovery Center. The group also puts on an annual Pinewood Derby and purchases Pinewood Derby car kits for every 5th grade student in the Valley. The Big Bear Lake Antique Car Club also donates to Big Bear High School, Rotary Interact and the Rotary 4th of July Fireworks. 600 Cars Show off in the Big Bear “Fun Run”

  Big Bear, Ca, August 15, 2011 – August has so far been an outstanding month for events in the Big Bear Valley with thousands of people attending signature events such as the Big Bear Air Fair, and the Big Bear Lake Antique Car Club Fun Run.  This past weekend the fun run attracted more than 5,000 people to the Village of Big Bear Lake to see nearly 500 antique cars from roadsters, hot rods, classics and antiques, line the streets of the village, and make their way around the lake.  Over 2,000 people ventured over to the Renaissance Faire in Fawnskin for Elizabethan era entertainment.  If you missed the Renaissance Faire last weekend, you are in luck as it will continue this weekend in Fawnskin, with a special sword fighting demonstration added to the list of entertianment for Sunday.  Over at the Big Bear City Airport 79 kids participated in the Young Eagles program, and all children were taken on plane rides in small 2 and 4 seater planes.  For the active crowd over 40 people participated in the Butler Peak hike, part of the Seven Summits hike series.  The August fun will continue this weekend with the Cowboy Gathering at the Performing Arts Center, and Art on the Lake at the Marina Resort.  For more information on upcoming events visit EventsInBigBear.com or BigBearNews.com and visit our event...
