Driver Arrested for Failure to Yield, DUI and Probation Violation Following Pursuit

Big Bear, CA – On Wednesday, April 12, at approximately 4:20 p.m., a Deputy from the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station observed a white Mustang with expired registration driving near the intersection of North Shore Drive and Division Drive in Big Bear City. The Deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop; however, the driver of the vehicle failed to yield and pull over. The driver continued on North Shore Drive, speeding up and passing vehicles over the double yellow line. Big Bear, CA – The U.S. Forest Service and their partner, the Southern California Mountains Foundation, are seeking volunteers of all ages who would enjoy working both in the forest and in their commercial size greenhouse to benefit the ecological restoration program. For over 20 years, Volunteers in the USFS Greenthumbs Program have restored disturbed lands across the San Bernardino National Forest. UPDATE 10/5 – As of 10:00 am this morning, containment is at 95% with full containment expected this evening. UPDATE 10/4 – As of 6:30 pm Monday evening, the Delamar fire was at 87% containment.  Big Bear, CA, October 3, 2016 – Firefighters are working a wildland fire on Delamar Mountain north of Big Bear Lake and the community of Fawnskin. Fawnskin, CA, August 15, 2016 – The California Department of Transportation is cleaning drains, reestablishing flow in roadside culverts and grading shoulders this week at two locations on State Route 38 near Fawnskin. On Tuesday, August 16, Caltrans will be cleaning drains and culverts, as well as grading the shoulders near North Shore Landing.
