Big Bear Lake, CA, June 21, 2013 – The Rotary Club of Big Bear Lake will host its fifteenth annual “Eagle of Excellence” Community Service Awards Ceremony and Dinner this Sunday, June 23. The dinner and awards ceremony  honors community members who exhibit a very high caliber of professionalism, enthusiasm, work ethic and commitment to service —  not only in their vocational field, but also in how they demonstrate excellence in the personal giving of time, energy and influence on others within the Big Bear Valley.  Since the Rotary Club began this program in 1998, over 79 individuals, mostly non-Rotarians, have received the “Eagle of Excellence” award, which includes a distinctive pin and commemorative trophy.  This year’s honorees include a distinguished group of Bear Valley residents from a variety of professions.  The 2013 group of honorees are Carol and Don Bremer, Marv Cira, Joe and Laura Landaker, Sara Tully and Nancy Celeste Walker. The Eagle of Excellence Awards dinner will be held  in the Bear Cave Event Center at Bear Creek Resort, starting with social hour at 5:00 p.m. and dinner at 6:00 p.m. The program will follow, including a presentation on each honoree and the introduction of this year’s Rotary Scholarship winners.
