Holiday Fun In Big Bear Valley

Big Bear Lake, CA, November 17, 2012, 6am – This week Bear Mountain & Snow Summit officially opened for the season. CATS Announces Auditions And Opportunities For 2012 Productions

Big Bear City, CA, April 26, 2012, 3:00pm – CATS, The Community Arts Theater Society, announces some auditions on April 28 for their 2012 season, as well as opportunities to get involved with the organization onstage or backstage. Some principal auditions for CATS fall production of “Oliver!” will be held on Saturday, April 28 by appointment. Other principal parts will be auditioned on September 15. CATS summer show will be the musical, “The King and I”. Some principal auditions have already been held.  However, all other parts in the production will be cast from those coming to the first rehearsal and orientation on Saturday, May 12. The all-volunteer organization charges no fees for participation. Grand Opening of New CATS Warehouse Theater and 2012 Season Performances

Big Bear City, CA, March 21, 2012, 1:00pm – The Community Arts Theater Society of Big Bear Valley, known as CATS, will present an original variety show, “BEARLY BROADWAY” written by Robin Field and Karen Sargent Rachels to commemorate the opening their 2012 season beginning on Friday, March 23rd through April 1st for seven performances.  The show will also be the Grand Opening of the new CATS Warehouse Theater, which caps six years of planning and building by the all-volunteer theatrical organization.  “BEARLY BROADWAY” will be the first theatrical event presented in the new facility on the new stage.  Karen Sargent Rachels, producer for CATS is quoted as saying “It’s really hard to believe that we survived the last six years and actually built a theater …. from scratch!  We didn’t remodel an old church… or an old movie theater.  We built a whole new one!  And we fulfilled our dream not only of having our own theater… but also having a place for us to build our sets and store our costumes! The all volunteer organization does not charge any fees for participation, but all who are interested in being in the shows must be able to schedule their time, and commit to the project as a part of the team. CATS will have the Grand Opening of their new CATS Warehouse Theater with an original revue called “Bearly Broadway” opening on March 23rd, written by Robin Field and Karen Sargent Rachels. My Fair Lady Opens Friday
