First of Two Community Meetings Begin Thursday on the “Village Renaissance” Project

Big Bear Lake, CA, March 7, 2012, 12noon: The City of Big Bear Lake will be conducting two community meetings to review the new Village Streetscape Reconstruction Project details and schedule set to begin construction on April 2nd and run through the summer.  The first meeting will be tomorrow, March 8th beginning at 5:30pm and the public is invited, and encouraged, to attend.  The second community meeting is scheduled for the following Thursday, March 15th, at 9:00am.  Both meetings will be held in Hofert Hall at the Civic Center at 39707 Big Bear Blvd.  The project has been coined the name “Village Renaissance” which will include the complete reconstruction of the Village “L” to include all new streets, curbs, gutters, sidewalks, pavers, mid-block crossings, lighting, street signs and two outdoor fire pits and seat walls.  The Village will remain open for business during the construction period and no construction will take place from 12noon on Fridays through the weekends.  This project will be one of the last items funded by the now dismantled Improvement Agency.  Questions should be addressed to Lyle Haynes, Economic Development Director of the City at 866-5831, ext....

Village Improvement Projects Going Into Design Stage

Big Bear, Ca, June 29, 2011, 12:00pm – The City of Big Bear Lake Improvement Agency approved a contract at the June 27th City Council Meeting with RRM Design group for engineering and construction documents for seven improvement projects in the village.  The seven projects include:  The Village Drive, Bartlett Road, and Pine Knot streetscape projects, the lake events plaza project, which would create an amphitheater for events in the Village area, the Knickerbocker drainage project, the lakeside boardwalk project, and a comprehensive sign program project to improve vehicle and pedestrian traffic.  The improvement agency agreed to spend $899,000 for these documents.  The City is aggressive in their plan to improve the village, and projects are expected to begin as soon as...
