Big Bear City, CA, May 18, 2016 – On Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at approximately 2:05 p.m., deputies from the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station responded to the report of a stabbing in the area of the 2100 block of E. Stolen Property and Methamphetamine Recovered During Search Warrant

Big Bear Lake, CA, April 21, 2016 – On Wednesday, April 20, at approximately 3:00 p.m., deputies from the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station Multi Enforcement Team served a search warrant at the residence of Scott Payne in Big Bear Lake. During the search, deputies recovered stolen property, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and other evidence consistent with the sale of narcotics. UPDATE: April 12, 2016 7:30 p.m. SUSPECT: Frank Popovich, 53 years old, resident of Big Bear VICTIM: James Clark, 42 years old, resident of Big Bear Investigators have been working throughout the day conducting interviews and collecting evidence related to the homicide investigation. Fatal Fall from Bridge Near Big Bear Dam

Big Bear Lake, CA, April 7, 2016 – At approximately 11:15 p.m. on April 6, deputies from the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station responded to assist Big Bear Fire Department with a subject who reportedly fell from the structure of the Highway 18 bridge near Big Bear Dam. The victim, identified as 27-year-old Craig Cowie, a resident of Sugarloaf, was hiking with friends in the ravine below the bridge. Big Bear, CA, March 31, 2016 – Shortly before 8:00 a.m. yesterday, deputies from the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station responded to a report of a commercial burglary in progress at the Moonridge Post Office.
