Big Bear High School Unveils New Marquee Purchased by PSA

Big Bear, CA, June 12, 2012, 3:00pm – Big Bear High School unveiled the new digital marquee on Monday.  The marquee will enable the high school to highlight the school’s notifications and accomplishments.  The marquee project was implemented three years ago, at the request of the school’s Principal, Mike Ghelber, when the old marquee was blown down and destroyed in a winter storm.  Malissa Parker, the founder of Parents in Support of Academics, known as PSA, spearheaded the project with a series of fundraisers, most notably, the annual Tax Day Soiree and Auction.  PSA’s fundraising activities for the new marquee took 3 years with another year to work out the details and specifications for its installation with key school district personnel.  Parents in Support of Academics is a parent oriented booster group that has assisted Big Bear High School with other projects including beautification of the quad area as well as contributing financially to a student Senior Project and the Principal’s Fund.  Additionally, the ASB, Associated Student Body, at the high school assisted PSA at the auctions and were recognized at the ceremony by Mr. Ghelber.  The PSA thanks the many merchants, businesses, organizations and individuals who supported this dream and helped to finally put the marquee in place. Valentine Sweetheart Dinner Show

The Big Bear High School Performing Arts Department is sponsoring a Valentine Sweetheart Dinner/Show. The event will be held on Friday, February 10th in the High School Cafeteria. Seating begins at 5:30pm, dinner at 6:00pm. Tickets are only $10.00 for adults and a special price of $5.00 for students and under. Tickets will be available at the door or you may call (909) 556-8756 to reserve your tickets at “Will Call”. Seating is limited and will be on a first come first seated basis.  Enjoy a “home cooked” spaghetti dinner while enjoying music provided by the Jazz Band, Concert Choir, and soloists Tashia Wormsbecker, Kari Pino, Kendra Petersen, Carolyn Soboslay, and Ariel Moreno. Val – O – Grams (singing telegrams) will be available to purchase at the door and will be delivered to guests during the evening by members of the Concert Choir.  Recipients receive a card, Lollipop and a song. Family Requests Help in Locating Missing Girl Danielle Stitzel

Big Bear Lake, CA, April 30, 2011, 1:30pm – The family of Danielle Stitzel is asking for the public’s assistance in locating this missing 16 year old girl.  Danielle was last seen on Tuesday, April 26th at 4:15pm at Meadow Park on Park Avenue in Big Bear Lake.  Danielle is 5’3″ tall with blonde hair and blue eyes.  She was wearing a black sweatshirt, blue jeans, a black jacket and black shoes.  The Big Bear Sheriff’s Department has followed leads to her possible whereabouts in the Los Angeles area but that does not rule out that she may still be in Big Bear.  Anyone with any information regarding this missing girl should contact the Big Bear station at (909)...
