Big Bear Lake, CA December 31, 2013 – There are quite a few ways to ring in the new year here in Big Bear, starting with Snow Summit’s annual Torchlight Parade at 7:00pm tonight. A holiday tradition not seen anywhere else in SoCal, it’s a spectacular display not to be missed, with 250 skiers and snowboarders descending the mountain with lit torches.

There are several locations where you can have a special New Year’s Eve dinner, or you can join in on one of the parties happening around town. Wyatt’s Saloon at the Big Bear Lake Convention Center has a family friendly New Year’s Eve party starting at 5:00pm with live entertainment, ranch style grub, and free shuttle service. Northwoods Resort is offering reduced admission to their party with the purchase of dinner. The Wine Room has an early bird dinner from 5:00-7:00pm and is also offering free shuttle service from their celebration. Parties starting at 9:00pm include events at Bear Mountain, Snow Summit, Nottinghams Tavern, Club Bombay in the Village, Murray’s Saloon and Eatery, as well as ‘Rockin’ in the New Year’ at the Cave.

Please remember to celebrate responsibly. If you plan on drinking, arrange for a designated driver, take advantage of the free shuttle services available, or call a cab. Have a safe and Happy New Year!
