If you thought you saw a giant sock monkey riding a jet ski on Big Bear Lake today—well, you did. The Big Bear Municipal Water District was host to a commercial shoot on the lake today, having issued a permit for KIA Motors to film an upcoming commercial that features 13-time world champion jet ski rider Chris MacClugage in a giant sock monkey suit on a jet ski. Travis Carroll, Lake Operations Supervisor for the MWD, tells KBHR that Lake Patrol personnel, along with Simons Ambulance, were on a standby team during the commercial shoot and all went well, even for the sock monkey. Update: The sock monkey’s Big Bear Lake ride made it to the February 7 Super Bowl, as part of the fun KIA Sorento ad. For another photo, visit our November posting of the sock monkey as a lead photo on kbhr933.com/BigBearNews.com.

It's not every day you see a sock monkey riding a jet ski on Big Bear Lake. Today's lake temp is about 50 degrees.
