San Bernardino, CA, March 21, 2013 – Five suspicious fires in Waterman Canyon above San Bernardino were quickly knocked down Thursday afternoon and a suspect has been taken into custody. Initially, it was unclear what charges Jaried Escobedo will face. The 27-year-old from San Bernardino was treated for injuries he sustained when he was trying to evade police. There were plans to book him on an unrelated arrest warrant that charges him with public intoxication according to one official. Fire investigators will decide whether to seek arson charges. Forest Service spokesman John Miller said crews had a hose lay around the burned areas by 5pm Thursday afternoon.
