Big Bear Lake, CA, August 4, 2010, 3:07pm – At approximately 10:42 this morning, deputies of the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station responded to a call for service of a robbery that had just occurred at Citibank on Big Bear Blvd in Big Bear Lake.  The suspect handed a note to one of the bank tellers, instructing the teller to put money in a bag.  The teller turned over an undisclosed amount of 100 dollar bills and 50 dollar bills and the suspect left the bank on a bicycle.  No weapons were used in the course of the robbery, and no injuries were reported.  Bank personnel immediately called 9-1-1 and were able to provide a detailed description of the suspect, his clothing, and his direction of travel when he fled the scene.  Big Bear Sheriff deputies made contact with the suspect a few blocks away from the bank at Thrush Drive and Switzerland Drive and he was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Big Bear jail.  The suspect is Thomas Dwyer, a 54-year-old white male adult.  Dwyer was booked on felony charges of robbery and is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.  An arraignment hearing is set for August 6, 2010 in San Bernardino County Superior Court.
