Turning Compost Into Food

Big Bear Lake, CA, September 30, 2012, 6am – It’s fall, and Valley residents will be raking up leaves. So instead of throwing them away, let the Big Bear Valley Community Gardens Project turn those leaves into compost to feed the soil next spring. The Big Bear Valley Community Gardens Project is looking for oak, poplar, maple, birch or aspen leaves. Please, no pine needles or yard trash – dry leaves only. Bagged leaves can be dropped off at the garden on Fox Farm Road at the large side delivery gate, not the gate at Fox Farm Road.
