Sunday Morning Starts With a Shake; USGS Records 1.7 Magnitude Earthquake Centered Near Big Bear Lake

earthquake-thumb1We had an earthquake in our area over the weekend, which the U.S. Geological Survey recorded at 43 minutes after midnight on Sunday morning, April 5. The quake registered a 1.7 magnitude, and was at a depth of nearly six miles. The just-after-midnight quake on Sunday was centered four miles northwest of Big Bear Lake.
