Sunday Morning Starts With a Shake; USGS Records 1.7 Magnitude Earthquake Centered Near Big Bear Lake

We had an earthquake in our area over the weekend, which the U.S. Geological Survey recorded at 43 minutes after midnight on Sunday morning, April 5. The quake registered a 1.7 magnitude, and was at a depth of nearly six miles. The just-after-midnight quake on Sunday was centered four miles northwest of Big Bear Lake.
