The winds are strong today (April 15), and already we have received wind gusts over 45 miles per hour here in the Big Bear Valley. The National Weather Service has issued a High Wind Warning for our area, and this remains in effect until 11am today. Given this High Wind Warning, gusts up to 65 miles per hour are possible. Beyond this morning, the High Wind Warning is reduced to a Wind Advisory through 9pm tonight. Though winds are expected to weaken this afternoon, winds of 35 miles per hour are expected. During this wind event, be mindful of downed tree limbs and use extra caution if driving a high-profile vehicle.
