Seven Stars Foundation Competing For $25,000 From The Home Depot Foundation

Big Bear City, CA, September 15, 2011, noon - The Seven Stars Foundation in Big Bear City has been selected as a finalist for Aprons in Action, The Home Depot Foundation’s unique Facebook voting program, and now has the opportunity to win a $25,000 gift card from The Home Depot, and your vote counts! The organization with the most votes will win the $25,000 prize, and be in the running for the grand prize of $250,000 at the end of the year-long program. The Seven Stars Foundation was established in 2007 and named for the seven crew members who were shot down and killed in Iraq. The Seven Stars Foundation makes a positive impact the lives of military personnel and their families through financial, emotional, and educational assistance. Laura Landaker, Director of the Seven Stars Foundation said  “Being selected for the Aprons in Action Program is an honor” and if they win the gift card, they’ll be able to reach even more veterans. In addition, the money will help with the establishment of Camp Hero-46 next summer, which will provide a fun escape and support for children of  fallen military members.
