Special Event Ordinance Update

Big Bear Lake, CA, October 16, 2012, 6am - On October 17, 2012, the Planning Commission will host a Public Hearing regarding modifications to the City’s Special Event Policy.  The goal of this process is to streamline event approvals and to balance special event benefits and impacts.  The Planning Commission has reviewed the recommendations of the Ad Hoc Committee on special events and has discussed the item several times this year.  Based on Ad Hoc Committee recommendations and input from the public, the Planning Commission is prepared to make a recommendation to the City Council.  On October 17, the Planning Commission will finalize the draft Development Code Amendment and will pass a resolution to advance the draft policy to the City Council for their consideration.  The Planning Commission Public Hearing will take place on October 17 at 1:15pm in Hofert Hall at the Big Bear Lake Performing Arts Center.
