The employees of our local Southwest Gas are asking the community to share the warmth this winter, by donating new or gently-used coats to their 12th annual Winter Coat Drive. Through October 30, donations of coats will be welcomed at seven locations, those being Bear Valley Electric Service, the Department of Water and Power, the Big Bear City Community Services District, Kmart, Stater Bros., Vons and Southwest Gas, located at 40884 Big Bear Boulevard, just east of Pine Knot. Says Southwest Gas Customer Specialist Cecilia Neale, “It’s rewarding for us to know that every year the Big Bear community responds so graciously to the drive to keep our neighbors a little warmer during this winter. The employees’ positive attitude, excitement and commitment to the project are wonderful to be a part of.” The donated coats will be distributed to those in need on Wednesday, November 4, from 9am to 5pm, at the Southwest Gas offices in Big Bear Lake.
