Soroptimist’s Give Big To Community

Big Bear, Ca, November 18, 2010, 5:00pm - The Soroptimists of Big Bear Valley held their monthly meeting on November 18th, and gave 10,000 to Big Bear Schools, and community organizations.  Past President Lynn Fowler presented the donations, that were fundraised through the Soroptimist Christmas Auction, Man About Town, and through See’s Candy sales.  The American Association of University Women, Bear Valley Meals on Wheels, Chautauqua High School, Adult Education Program, Friends of the Big Bear Library, and Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District all received $1200.00 from the Soroptimists, and Baldwin Lane Elementary, Big Bear Elementary, Big Bear High School, Big Bear Middle School, Northshore Elementary, Chatauqua High School, Kiwanis Medical Alert Program, and Smile Train all received $500.00.  All recipients were very grateful, and shared how the donated funds would be spent.
