snowmaking-thumb1This weekend is both ski season and golf season at Big Bear Mountain Resorts. Bear Mountain is open for skiing and riding and, given four hours of snowmaking last night, the resort boasts a snow depth of up to 18 inches, as well as 17 new terrain features on Central Park. Early season rates remain in effect, with additional discounts offered for half-day sessions, which begin at noon. Snow Summit Resort has not yet opened for the season, though given an additional six hours of snowmaking overnight, preparations are being made to open soon if cold overnight temperatures continue. The Bear Mountain Golf Course is open today [Friday, November 20], and will be available for golfing from 10am to 3pm through Sunday and, weather permitting, over the four-day Thanksgiving weekend as well.
