Smoke May Be Visible to Southeast; Forest Service Crews Continue Hazardous Fuels Removal Off Highway 38

smokey-thumbCrews from the U.S. Forest Service are back in the Barton Flats area, off Highway 38, today. Though no hazardous fuels pile burns are taking place today, there may be some smoke in the area as smoldering continues on already burned piles of dead vegetation. These ongoing hazardous fuels pile burns are part of the Forest Service’s effort to reduce the threat of wildfire to the mountain communities.
