Two Small Earthquakes Centered Outside Big Bear Lake This Afternoon

earthquake-thumb1We had two small earthquakes in our area this afternoon, per the U.S. Geological Survey. The first, a 1.6 magnitude quake at 12:05pm, was centered four miles northwest of Big Bear Lake, and registered a depth of six miles. A second quake, at 2:12pm, was a 1.7 magnitude tremor centered six miles north northwest of Big Bear Lake and was at a depth of almost two-and-a-half miles.
