Sheriff’s Department Investigating Apparent Suicide of 58-Year-Old Bear City Resident

coroner-thumbThe San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of a 58-year-old man from Big Bear City, who was found at his home in the 500 block of Maltby Boulevard on Saturday evening. Per the press release: “On Saturday, August 29 at approximately 7:39pm, San Bernardino County Sheriff Dispatch received a 911 call reporting the victim had been found dead in his home from an apparent suicide. Medical personnel and Sheriff’s deputies responded and confirmed the victim was deceased. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Homicide Detail was called in to assist, and is currently conducting a death investigation. Detectives processed the scene and spoke with the reporting party as well as other acquaintances of the victim. An autopsy will be conducted by the Sheriff’s Coroner Division to determine the exact cause and manner of death. The investigation is continuing. Anyone who feels they may have relevant information is asked to contact Detective Scott Landen at 909/387-3589.” The name of the deceased will be released pending notification of next of kin.

Update: As of September 3, the name of the deceased has not yet been released.
