sbveterans-thumbIn support of our military troops overseas, the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station has partnered with the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors and the County’s Department of Veterans Affairs, to participate in a collection drive of pre-paid phone cards. Personnel at the Sheriff’s Department are also encouraging the donation of unwrapped toys and gift cards (such as those to grocery stores, gas stations and restaurants) for our troops’ families here at home. As outlined by local project coordinator Deputy Siebert, “Your donation is a small but important gesture, especially this holiday season, to show your appreciation and support of our troops deployed around the world.” Pre-paid phone cards, gift cards and unwrapped toys for the troops and their families can be delivered to the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station, on Big Bear and Summit Boulevards, from 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday through December 4.
