Services For Gary Antes: October 14th

Big Bear, Ca, October 10, 2011, 1:00pm - Long time resident of the Big Bear Valley, Gary Antes passed away on Thursday September 29th, after being diagnosed with non-Hodgkins Lymphoma in July of this year.  Gary was born in San Jose, California, and moved to Big Bear in 1972 after visiting on an Easter Vacation, and bought Bear City Glass and created one of the most respectable businesses in Big Bear. Gary’s sons, Craig and Jeff continue to operate the business today.  Gary was very involved with the community, and served as the president of the Rotary Club of Big Bear Lake for a time.  According to his family, Gary enjoyed his years of retirement, engaging in all the activities he loved, including golf, traveling, and keeping up with Angels baseball.  A mass will be held at 11am on Friday, October 14th at St. Jospeh’s Catholic Church with a reception to follow at the Parish Hall.  Donations can be made in Gary’s name to the American Cancer Society or Rotary International.
