No School on Monday; BVUSD Calls Snow Day at 4am

School snow day!

School snow day!

There is no school today, December 7. Bear Valley Unified School District has called a snow day. The school district’s Superintendent, Director of Transportation and Director of Maintenance and Operations begin checking weather reports and road conditions at 3:30am, and actually drive the bus routes, to determine if travel is safe for students; considerations are also made with regard to afternoon bus routes. As of 4am this morning, in anticipation of heavy snow, today’s snow day was called. By 5:45am on these snow days, the school district’s phone chain is activated, and students and parents can call their school site for an updated recording. BVUSD also activates a district-wide dial out to parents to alert families to school snow days. Again, today is a snow day but, on days when school is in session, and parents make the choice to keep their children at home, this will be counted as an unexcused absence. (We ask that you please tune to KBHR at 93.3 FM for continuous updates on snowy mornings, rather than call our studios. Thank you!)
