Hard to believe, perhaps, but school resumes next week for students of Bear Valley Unified School District. Prior to school’s first day on August 4, BVUSD encourages parents to review the school bus schedule for the 2009/2010 school year, which does include some changes in stops for Big Bear Middle School students. The four stops deleted from the BBMS route are as follows: East Big Bear Boulevard at Zaca, Silverpine at Santa Barbara, Barton at Wabash, and the stop on Turlock. To service students in these areas, the following new bus stops have been added: the southeast corner of Highway 38 and Zaca, the northeast corner of Highway 38 and Stanford, and the northeast corner of Sunset and Magnolia. Bus pickups for BBMS and Big Bear High School students begin at 6:20am for some routes; North Shore Elementary routes get started around 7:30am, 8am for Big Bear Elementary, and about 8:15am for Baldwin Lane Elementary students. New this year, BVUSD has a website specific to the transportation department; school bus routes can be reviewed and downloaded at BigBearSchoolBus.com.
