Rotary Club Announces “Eagle of Excellence” Community Service Awards Nominees

Big Bear Lake, CA , April 17, 2012 -The Rotary Club of Big Bear Lake has announced the names of the five recipients of this year’s “Eagle of Excellence” Community Service Awards.  The dinner and awards ceremony, celebrating it’s fifteenth year, is dedicated to honoring members of the Big Bear community that exhibit a very high caliber of professionalism, enthusiasm, work ethic and commitment to service, not only in their vocational field, but also in how they demonstrate excellence in the personal giving of time, energy and influence on others within the Bear Valley community.  Since the Rotary Club began this program in 1998, over 74 individuals, mostly non-Rotarians, have been honored with the “Eagle of Excellence” award.  This year’s honorees include Roy Brownie, Ellen Conklin, Gail McCarthy, Sharon Rizzo and Julann Warren.  The ceremony and dinner will be held on Sunday, May 6th at the Northwood’s Resort beginning at 5pm.  The Rotary Club will also introduce its 2012 Rotary Scholarship winners that evening.  Attendance is by invitation only; however, if any member of the Big Bear community is interested in participating to support the 2012 Eagle of Excellence nominees, you may contact Liz Harris, event Chairperson, at (909) 744-2213 for further information.
