According to Big Bear Marina, the official weigh station for Big Bear Lake’s anglers, a new lake record was set on Sunday. Erin Dominguez of Trabuco Canyon reeled in an 18.69 pound rainbow trout, which shatters the previous record set by Harvey Clark of El Cajon in 1995, when a 14.69 pound trout was reeled in during the Jim Hall Memorial Trout Classic, which for 27 years has stocked the lake with trophy-sized trout. Dominguez caught the 18.69 pound trout, which was 32 inches long and had a girth of 22 inches, from the south shore of the lake near the dam using a nightcrawler.

Erin Dominguez has a winning fish tale with her 18.69 rainbow trout, reeled in from the south shore on Sunday, May 24.
