Big Bear, Ca, January 13, 2011, 8:00am – The City of Big Bear Lake Planning Commission currently has one vacancy that was created when Commissioner David Caretto was elected to the City Council last November. Current Planning Commission Chairwoman Anne Zimmerman’s term expires on June 30, which will leave another vacancy to fill. Shortly, residents interested in serving will be invited to apply for a seat on the Planning Commission, which consists of a five-member body, appointed by the City Council, each of whom serves a four-year term. Currently, they meet on the 1st & 3rd Wednesday of each month at 1:15pm in Hofert Hall. Primary duties include preparing, adopting and maintaining a long-range comprehensive master plan for the City’s growth and development and serving as an advisory body to the City Council.
