bblcity-thumb1If ever you thought it was a pain to explain Paine Road when giving directions, that small portion of roadway where Big Bear Boulevard, Highway 18 and Village Drive intersect at the Village’s west end where Village Pizza is situated is about to get a name change. In today’s meeting of the Planning Commission of Big Bear Lake, Commissioners will consider a request from the Village Business Association to rename a segment of Paine Road and Lakeview Drive (east to Pine Knot Avenue) to Big Bear Boulevard; the existing portion of Paine Road is proposed to be changed to Paine Court. The Planning Commission will review this—as well as a Walgreens tree replacement agreement and a work extension request from the A.J. Acosta Firewood Company, both of which are at or near the Moonridge Y—in this afternoon’s 1:15pm meeting, to be held in Hofert Hall at the Civic Center. Planning Commission meetings are open to the public.
