Perfect Conditions for Snowshoeing

 Big Bear, Ca February 27, 2011 9:00 am – The snow storms these past two weekends have created perfect conditions for snowshoeing.  Snowshoeing is the fastest growing winter sport in the world, according to Snowshoe Magazine.  There are good reasons for this.  Not only is snowshoeing a wonderful family sport, it is great exercise, and lets you experience nature without having to stay on groomed trails.  Big Bear has beautiful forest areas, perfect for snowshoeing.  Bear Valley Bikes and Goldsmith’s Boardhouse can get you started with rental shoes and recommended trails.  If you would like a guided tour for your first snowshoeing experience, the Big Bear Discovery Center has trips most Saturdays and Sundays throughout the winter season.  Right now the snow is perfect for snowshoeing and Big Bear has some of the best backwoods trails to enjoy this sport.
