Monica Howse Found Safe, Sanchez Arrested Then Released

Big Bear City, CA, August 7, 4:00pm -  [UPDATE] - 23-year-old Alberto Silva Sanchez, the man who was believed to be with Monica Howse was arrested Thursday evening, August 2, and booked for allegedly having sex with a minor, then later released. The District Attorney’s Office declined to file charges against Sanchez and sent the case back to Big Bear detectives for additional investigation.

[PREVIOUS STORY] - Big Bear City, CA, August 7, 2012, 9:35am – [UPDATE] - 15-year-old Monica Howse was tracked down by a family member and safely returned home on Monday, according to TMZ. It’s unclear where Monica has been for the last two weeks. The family reported Monica missing when she failed to return home after her work shift at Taco Bell. Police believed she was last seen with a 23-year-old male Alberto Silva Sanchez, and at this time it’s still unclear if he was involved in her disappearance.

According to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Monica Howse did not return home as expected after her shift and was reported missing. Police believe Monica is in the company of a 23-year-old Hispanic male named Alberto Silva Sanchez, who drives a black 1997 Ford F150 single cab truck with Kansas plates. Fifteen year old Monica Howse of Big Bear City, was last seen on Monday, July 23, at about 4pm after being dropped off at Taco Bell in Big Bear Lake for work. Monica may be in the company of a Hispanic male, 23-year-old Alberto Silva Sanchez, also a resident of Big Bear City.  Sanchez is reported to be driving a 1997 black Ford F150 single cab truck with Kansas license plates. Anyone having information about the current whereabouts of Monica Howse should contact the Detective’s Bureau of the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station at 866-0100.  Information can also be reported anonymously by calling the WE TIP Hotline at 1 (800) 78-CRIME.
