Local Fire Crews Put Out Single Structure Blaze in Whispering Forest This Morning; Investigation Being Conducted by Bear City Fire Department

fire-thumbLocal fire crews responded to a structure fire on the North Shore, just north of Division, at 6:30am this morning (June 22), though the blaze has since been contained and an investigation is being conducted by the Big Bear City Fire Department. The single-family, two-story wooden structure, located in the vicinity of Antelope Mountain Drive and Mount Verdi Road in the Whispering Forest neighborhood, was reportedly unoccupied; in addition to response from the Big Bear City and Big Bear Lake Fire Departments and County Fire’s Station #49 from Fawnskin, crews from the San Bernardino National Forest were called in, to assist in control of flying embers as the home is located adjacent to Forest Service land.
