Body of Karen Dalman positively identified

Baldwin Lake, CA, May 22, 2013 – Coroner investigators confirmed today that  the deceased woman found May 18 near Crystal Mountain was indeed missing person Karen Dalman.  The identity was confirmed through fingerprints.

On May 16 at 7:00 a.m., Erwin Lake resident Bruce Jackson reported Karen Dalman missing, told investigators the two had been hiking together on May 14, but had become separated while searching for his runaway dog. Jackson reported being lost himself for two days.

The body was recovered from a natural drainage approximately one mile from where the search began.  An autopsy to determine the cause of death is still forthcoming.
