Big Bear, Ca, December 9, 2010, 12:00pm – The Big Bear City Airport Board held its regularly scheduled meeting on Wednesday December 8th, at the Big Bear City Airport. Many members of the public attended the meeting. Outgoing members Jay Obernolte and Butch Waymire were thanked for their service and were presented with an ariel picture of the airport and surrounding valley. Both thanked the board for the picture, and stated they enjoyed their time on the Big Bear City Airport Board. New board members Gary Stuebe, and Steven Baker were sworn in by Jay Obernolte. Elections for the new President and Vice President took place and Julie Smith was elected President with a 4-1 vote, and Gary Stuebe was elected Vice President with a unanimous vote. During the meeting members of the public spoke about the need for shorter meetings, and for the Directors to be better prepared before the meeting to cut down on time. The Directors also voted to move the monthly meetings from the first Wednesday of the month at 2:30 to the second Wednesday of the month at 4:00, to accommodate people who work during the day.
