Big Bear Lake, CA – 5/19/2014 – The annual fund raiser Man About Town raised a over $61,000 for Soroptimists International and women’s health issues in the Big Bear Valley. Sunday night three contestants–Michael Natzic, Ray Hino and Jim Miller–made the final push for this years Man About Town title. With supporters, friends and family in attendance, the hats were passed, skits performed and money tallied ending this year’s six week frenzy of fund raising events. A total of $61,024 was raised, not besting past years, but still an impressive total as new rules limited candidates to two events each. With the tally finished, Jim Miller, Rotary President and City Department head, received the traditional cane and top hat signifying his victory. “It’s all in good fun, which exploits the male ego desire to win in an effort raise money for good causes”, said last year’s Man About Town winner, Fire Chief Jeff Willis.
