Jeff Lawson Passes at Age 62

Big Bear, Ca, January 31, 2012, 10:00am - Jeffrey Scott Lawson passed away this past weekend at the age of 62 after a valiant battle with cancer. Jeff, who was born in Seattle, Washington, moved to Big Bear in 1992, and bought Mercer Automotive and Tire about five years ago.   Lawson was well known in the valley for his long time passion for car racing, which he passed along to his son Jesse.  Jeff raced for many years in multiple stock car series.  Jeff was a decorated Vietnam veteran who served his country in the Marine Corps.  Friends refer to Jeff as a strong willed and compassionate man who always lent a hand.  He was a sports fan, who was passionate about his business and family.  Jeff leaves behind his two sons Jesse and Christopher, two daughters Julie and Monique, his mother, sisters, brothers and eight grandchildren.  Services to celebrate Jeffrey’s life will be held this Sunday, February 5th at Veterans Park at 11:00am.  The family welcomes those close to Jeff to attend the memorial and remember his life.

Angela Meyers moved to Big Bear in August of 2009, after spending a summer in Washington DC. Angela’s parents Roy and Susan Meyers met at Big Bear High School in 1967, and her Grandfather Rob Jacobson worked at the Big Bear Lake Post Office for 28 years. Angela graduated from California State University, Fullerton with a degree in Public Relations. While at CSUF she was the Director of Public Relations for the Associated Students for two years. Angela is a member of the Big Bear Valley Trails Foundation, The Big Bear Cycling Association, and races for, and is the co captain of Team Tough Chik, an all women's multi sport team.
