bblcity-thumb1 The City of Big Bear Lake Improvement Agency holds a special meeting today to consider hearing a presentation from the Buxton Company.

The company has written a detailed report outlining a retail and restaurant strategy to help in the economic development and build-out of certain business districts in the Big Bear Valley. The strategy aims to attract appropriate new businesses and help existing businesses better understand their consumer base and new opportunities. A lengthy report analyzes the segments of population who are residents, second homeowners and tourists — demographics classified by such names as “Heartlanders” and “Bohemian Mix” — and how we can better serve their consumer needs.

This morning’s meeting will be held in the Civic Center at 9:00.
