Highway 38 Fully Opened and Crews Continue to Improve Mill Fire Line

Yucaipa, CA, June 29, 2013 – As of 8am this morning, Highway 38 completely re-opened eliminating the need for the detour through Oak Glen put into place last night as a result of the Mill Fire.  CAL Fire was assigned to the Mill Fire and crews continue to battle the blaze which has remained at 350 acres overnight and is at 20% containment as of this morning.  The Mill Fire began yesterday at 2:09pm off of Highway 38 near the Mill Creek Ranger Station near Mentone.  Evacuations were put into place but have all been lifted.  One home was partially damaged.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
