Friends of Nigel Present $5,000 to the Holland Family; Lynn Fraher Wins 6′ Bear Carving

hollandnigelcheckThe community once again rallied in support of seven-year-old Nigel Holland, as First Mountain Bank sold over $4,000 in raffle tickets for the 6’ bear carving offered by George Crezee of Unreal Furnishings. Though Nigel has had a busy week, making three trips to Children’s Hospital of Orange County with dad Tim and mom Monica, he was present at First Mountain Bank this afternoon, to draw the winning raffle ticket—and local Lynn Fraher is now the owner of the bear carving, valued at $1,600. The Gardner family of Patriot Bear Heating and Air also presented the Hollands with a check for $1,000; Chase Gardner, Nigel’s former snowboard instructor, had sold a large screen TV, to help the Hollands. Of the $5,000 received today, Tim Holland tells KBHR, “This money is going to go toward our medical expenses, as well as the driving to Orange County and not being able to work as much, as you can imagine.” Nigel’s mom says that recent scans of Nigel’s brain tumor show definite improvement—and, Monica adds, “This community has really turned a horrible situation into something really positive. We’re just really overwhelmed at how supportive this community has been. There’s been such hope.”
