Firefighter and, now, gold medalist Ricky Seward of the BBC Fire Dept.
Firefighter/Paramedic Ricky Seward came home with a gold medal after representing the Big Bear City Fire Department at the Western States Police and Fire Games last week. He had three bouts in the middleweight boxing division on Monday, Wednesday and Friday–and finally won his decisive victory Friday (June 19) with a third-round knockout. The annual competition took place at the College of the Canyons in Santa Clarita, and included archery, cycling, ice hockey and a pentathlon. The games are produced by the California Police Athletic Federation, which promotes physical fitness and sport in the community.
