Fire Personnel Respond Quickly to Small Fire near Butler Peak

Big Bear, CA, July 25, 2013 – A small spot fire was reported just before 10am in the area of Butler Peak above Fawnskin.  The origin of the fire was originally reported as a possible downed aircraft but it has been confirmed that is not the case.  The fire is at about a quarter acre and appears to be a single tree lightening snag with heavy fuels in the area.  Two water dropping helicopters have responded to the fire and one hand crew.  The incident is being called the Grays Incident.
