The yellow brick road starts at the Performing Arts Center as, this week, the Community Arts Theater Society launches a three-week run of “The Wizard of Oz” featuring local thespians including Tori Waner and Amber Carpenter as Dorothy, Ty Warren as the Cowardly Lion, Steve Combs as the Tin Man, Joe Sellarole as the Scarecrow, Elena Peavy as the Wicked Witch, Amanda Fisch as Glenda the Good Witch, and Jim Weyant as the Wizard. The production is directed and choreographed by Karen Sargent Rachels and proceeds from “The Wizard of Oz” will benefit the building fund of the CATS Warehouse Theater located in Big Bear City. The first of 13 performances, featuring the music of the classic film, will be offered tomorrow, Thursday, at a special discount preview price of $14 for adults.
