Big Bear Lake, CA, October 8, 2013 – The newest Lighthouse Project Affiliate is Big Bear Elite Cheer, which has begun their first year of training and competition led by Jamiee Smith. The program is designed to help children develop self discipline, teamwork, respect for authority and good sportsmanship, along with the basics of cheer leading.
The organization just held a raffle fundraiser, and with the help of the community, they raised $5,411 to help pay for practice facility fees and competitions. The raffle winners were Tim Brigham, Ruth Manriquez, Linda Pawinski, Priscilla Guillen, and K. Hughes. Raffle Sponsors included Stater Bros, ARCO, Old Country Inn, Sonora Cantina and Butchers Block.
Currently, 54 children are enrolled in Elite Cheer and divisions of children are separated by age. Anyone with a child between the ages of 3 and 15 who would like to join Elite Cheer should call (909) 936-2851. Donations are also appreciated.
