Information today from the County Emergency Operations Center states that two Search & Rescue Teams and volunteers from the Citizens on Patrol from the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station completed door-to-door welfare checks and found no residents in need of emergency care or shelter. As of late yesterday afternoon, the American Red Cross Emergency Shelter established at the Big Bear Middle School closed as there were no shelter clients and no expected need overnight last night. American Red Cross personnel were sent home but emergency items are being stored for the time being in case the need arises again.
